Learn how to use essential Japanese ingredients to create a delicious salmon dinner.

In this hands-on cooking class with Chef Fumiko, you'll learn how to make authentic Japanese dishes from scratch.

To begin, you'll make a vegetable salad with an umami-packed miso dressing and miso soup with tofu. Then you'll learn how to prepare flavorful green beans cooked in a sauce of toasted sesame seeds and soy sauce. For the main dish, you'll braise salmon until flaky and serve it with eggplant and a sweet soy sauce. Then learn how to make refreshing green tea ice cream for dessert.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

My friends and I had a lovely night with Fumiko preparing the 5-course Japanese dinner. The food that we made was excellent, however, I don't feel like Fumiko spent much time teaching - she briefly explained the ingredients, passed them to us with the recipe, and we were off and running on our own. While the food & cooking experience were fun, clean, and tasty, I was hoping for more takeaways from this class.
