Our kids had SUCH a blast learning from Chef Lawrencia! She was super patient and they had a blast learning how to make her recipes! This was s birthday present for one of my kids, and he LOVED it!

I previously booked an in-home chef experience through Cozymeal with outstanding results. This experience fell well short of expectations. 1) The chef arrived 1hr 45mins past the agreed to arrival time and did not call to advise she would be late; 2) she served the courses but did not come back to clear any dishes before serving the next course; 3) the entrée did not include the potatoes or a substitute starch; 4) the entrée dishes were still on the table when she announced her clean-up was complete and she was ready to depart – she did remove her coat and offer to plate the desert when I asked; 5) the amount of stuff spilled on the floor was alarming, but not nearly as bad as the spill over in the oven.
I asked my guests for their opinions on the meal quality, comments were: the vegetables in the soup were probably fresh but undercooked and the soup base seemed to be from a can; the bread bowl was tasty but not in line with the dinner style and completely over-sized; the sauce on the entrée was too watery and the meal was bland; serving garlic bread after a huge bread bowl just didn’t make sense; the desert was good but not delicious.
I would not recommend this chef for an in-home experience.

Lawrencia did a great job for our group of 6 in Chicago. The food was delicious and her teaching was top notch.
I would definitely book her for future experiences!

We booked Chef Lawrencia for the Authentic Mexican lesson and had a wonderful time learning from her. We would strongly recommend her lessons to anyone - absolute beginners, people who know their way around the kitchen but not necessarily around the spice drawer, or experienced cooks who just want to learn a new dish.
Mexican cuisine is way outside our area of specialty so we really appreciated that the lesson was accessible enough for us to set a foundation but focused enough for us to thoroughly understand the dishes she selected. Her teaching style is excellent - we had a ton of random questions, but she somehow managed to make generous time for these while also keeping us on pace. She clearly takes pride in expanding people's horizons and we will absolutely book her again in the future, for either the Classic Southern Staples or Classic Creole Supper lesson.

This class was beyond frustrating, as the instructor was not prepared to teach a class of the size that attended.

Purchased the class for my son and his girlfriend for Christmas and they attended class tonight. Both said it was a giant waste of money and felt like a scam. They cut 4 stalks of celery and made dough. There were around 16 people in class with parts of the meal given to different people to complete. Cutting some celery is not worth over $200. Ingredients were great value (Walmart), chef read instructions from a notebook. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Very accessible recipes and delicious food. My husband already said he will be able to make the salmon croquettes again on his own!! Chef Lawrencia was really good at giving my husband and I different tasks and bouncing between our stations to keep us engaged and supervise the meal progression. We had a very nice evening.
